That Was A Week Off Work

So I booked a week off work over the Easter Holidays. Got two days out, and 5 days decorating.....

The first day out was to Blackpool Tower. Not been there in years. It's such a nice building, and the ballroom is lovely, wish we could have spent all day just in that room. Takes me back to when I was a kid and me and my older brother would go with our aunty and uncle who would dance while we just walked around the place..

Of course we had to go to the top, or as close as you were allowed on the day which was two open levels up at about 416 feet. Lovely day for it!!
While in Blackpool we also did a quick stop at Madame Tussauds for their new Marvel exhibition, Hulk and Groot are great.

The second day out was another trip to Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester. This was done because they have a new Space section to see and also the new Easter Pop Badges are out, which have become a bit of an obsession for my youngest son and wife!! Was only there a couple of hours but on an Easter weekend that was more than enough....

And most of my days off were working on the epic job of decorating the hallway, stairs and landing of our house that really needed this sometime ago. Just waiting now for new carpet to be laid and then I can do the last part of the flooring..

And now back to work for a rest.......

5k Charity Run For The Stroke Association

At the weekend we as a family ran 5k for the Stroke Association. As most of you who have visited my blog before will know my youngest had a stroke over a year ago. He wanted to do something to raise money for the charity that has help him and us with his recovery and understanding what has happened to him.  It was a cold Sunday morning in Blackpool for the run, but with a great turnout and friendly lot we had a warmup and before we knew it we were off. Was a little hard going for me as I haven't done much running in the last few year, but with my eldest son on my shoulder all the way talking about the latest game he is playing it wasn't long before we were on the way to the finish line. :)  Ryan, mum and dog came in not long after at very reasonable times and I am proud of them all for doing it. Eldest Son: 30mins. Me: 34mins. Ryan: 47mins. Mum and Kylo: 50mins. So far we have raised almost £400 with still a few cash donations still to come in. The link is st...

D&D Tiles

Here are a few tiles that I made while playing a D&D game with my son. Some of the content was gotten from the RPTools community, and I just put it together for our needs, thanks . http://www.rptools.net
