Showing posts with the label summer

2017 August

It was a very busy month August. I guess being part of the school summer holidays helps to make it that bit more busier, but we really didn't stop much at all......  From walks with the dog, car-boot, tenpin bowling, airshow, a tv show recording, fun days out and so much more...

Busy weekend, Chorley Flower Show and Skate Park

Good start to the school summer holidays, this weekend was Chorleys Flower Show, a local town but we have never been to the show before. Not the largest show, but very nice to see local Floristry and Food stalls. Based at Astley Park there was plenty of space and of course Astley Hall is very nice to walk around. On Sunday we took Ryan to a skate park for some much needed energy burning. He'd been looking forward to it for a week and even got up early which isn't like him lately.. He had a great time, shame we could convince his older brother to come and have some fun, but he's that way out at the moment "Nothing's Fun!"

May 2016 Pictures

May was a month of many new things. After almost a year of my boys and wife going "can we have a dog, can we have a dog" I finally gave in. After not much of a long search we came across a really nice organization that tries to re-home dogs, cats, rabbits and other smaller animals.  Animal care  were very good and not at all pushy, we could take as many dogs as we wanted for a walk (one at a time of course), but it was our second one that the whole family, and yes me as well fell for. Liam, soon to be re-named Kylo is a cross breed Jack Russell with a lot of energy, but also just loves to chill and sit on you. He is 2 years old and loves to chase cat, also one of our neighbors has just got chickens which is driving him mad. We have only had him a month and he already feels so much part of the family it's like he has always been with us.

Day Trip Into London

Last Saturday we thought it would be a great idea to have a flying visit to our capital. Just us, the kids and Grandma. An early start was needed (8am train) as the journey down to London was just over 2hrs. We only planed to see maybe 2 main locations and anything else would be a bonus.

Rufford Old Hall

Another weekend another family trip out using our National Trust membership. This weekend we didn't travel too far ( only about 25mins from our home ) to  Rufford Old Hall . It was a great day out, the Victorian and Edwardian gardens are really nice to walk around, and looked great in the gorgeous weather we had. The Hall itself was smaller then I was expecting but really nice inside. The boy's liked walking around all the rooms because they were looking for an different animal in each one ( a paper they were given as we entered the Hall ).

Some family pictures

I don't often post family pictures, but I'm somewhat behind on organising our images, so while I have a few moments and I'm in my photo album folders he you go.  Just a few from the last 4 months. January:
