That Was A Week Off Work

So I booked a week off work over the Easter Holidays. Got two days out, and 5 days decorating.....  The first day out was to Blackpool Tower. Not been there in years. It's such a nice building, and the ballroom is lovely, wish we could have spent all day just in that room. Takes me back to when I was a kid and me and my older brother would go with our aunty and uncle who would dance while we just walked around the place..

Legoland And Sea Life

This weekend we had a double adventure....  First stop was Legoland Discovery in Manchester, which is always ok for an hour or two as we are lego made in our house, plus Ryan has now become obsessed with collecting the pop badges and swapping them with the staff..

We Made A Roman Shield

Last weekend's homework for my youngest was to make a Roman Shield. After a short  google image search Ryan came up with his design and drew it out. I added the larger version onto card and away he went painting it how he wanted it. He took it to school at the end of the week, and I think it went down well 👍 Original Design

Cosplay for September 2017

Another month and another collection of fantastic cosplayers and their creations..  Here are 30 from this month's album with a total of 109 for you to view if you follow the link.

Preston Comic Con 2017

It's that time of year again, Preston Comic Con 2017 has come around. We had booked our tickets well in advance, and glad we did, so many people turned up on the day to stand and wait for tickets to get in......  Anyway this is the second time we have been and this year it had grown a little bit more which is good, still a long way to go to compete with the larger venues that I see online but nice to be there.  Here's a good handful of images that I took, unfortunately I'm having problems with my camera lately and these are the ones that I have managed to crop and edit to share, think it's time to look for a new camera.  Still a good time was had, saw some great cosplay, and the boys picked up some cool custom lego figures which I will have to do a post on.

2017 August

It was a very busy month August. I guess being part of the school summer holidays helps to make it that bit more busier, but we really didn't stop much at all......  From walks with the dog, car-boot, tenpin bowling, airshow, a tv show recording, fun days out and so much more...

Stranger Things 2 Character Posters

I'm a bit of a fan of Stranger Things being of that age that was the early 80's, all things Goonies, E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind( I know this is more late 70's, but still me). Anyway loved the first season and so looking forward to what they can do with the second.  They have just released 12 character posters.

Cosplay Finds August 2017

The last day of August, so a great time to look back at all the cosplay images I have found over this month. As always there are some amazing creations a fantastic takes on some characters. All images and rights are to the photographer and cosplayer, I don’t alter/crop out any detail or names in the images. As I see so many I can not link to all sites, but if you google search an image you will find the source. This is just me helping show off some amazing creations. So here's 30 images that I think are really good from this month's album, but there is a total of 116 in the August 2017 Cosplay Album .

Madame Tussauds Blackpool

Had a morning visit to  Madame Tussauds Blackpool this weekend. We haven't been in many years so thought it was would be good for an hour or so. Of course it's not on the scale of London's version, but was ok for a walk around and a few pictures. Some of the models are really good, Ed Sheeran, Barbara Windsor, Brian Cox, The Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise to name a few, but some of them, Cheryl, Sir David Frederick Attenborough, Lewis Hamilton and The Duchess of Cambridge I really struggled with.  Here are the images that I took while walking around.

Blackpool Airshow 2017

A little late posting the images I took at the weekend, but better late then never......  Blackpool Airshow was the venue for these. We have been before and enjoyed the show and as its a free, what's not to like. Last time we went the could all stand and sit on the beach, but this time the sea was in so it was a little crowded on the piers and beach front, but still very enjoyable.  The weather stayed nice with mostly clear skies and which made viewing the show much better. I think the pictures came out ok as I only had my little point and shoot Sony RX100 II which is over 5yrs old now.

Cosplay finds July 2017

As we are running up to the last few days of July, I thought I would for once be on time if not early with my cosplay monthly post. As some of you will know I have been posting through the month on G+ and filling my July album up (160 images total), and now is the time to post the best finds this month..  As always they excel in their creations, and easily blur the lines of cosplayers and professional costume designers/makers. What's your favourite? As always you can leave a comment below.. M ore can be found in this month's album here.

Sundays Game Against Ashton Bears

Scrappy Game Today:  Was a tough game against Ashton Bears today. We have beaten them the last few times and I'm guessing they didn't want it to happen again.  After one of theirs being sent off, a bust nose for us, several punches and kicks, and Sam seeing stars after being kneed in the head, the final score was a draw at 22 each.

Let's Play Galactic Civilizations 3 - 001

Galactic Civilizations 3 - 001 After saying many, many times that I’m such a big fan of strategy games like Civilization and Galactic Civilization and that they are in my favorite all time games list, I thought I’d better start playing some. First up is going to be Galactic Civilizations 3. Now even though it's been out since May 2015 and I picked it up early on I haven’t put much time into it (11hrs as of now on my steam account). I will be playing with Mercenaries Expansion Pack, Ship Designer’s Toolbox, Precursor World's, Mega Events and Revenge Of The Snathi DLC installed, no other mods. We are the Arcean Empire, a noble and old race with a rich history. After centuries of always being the underdog, and being almost brought to the brink of destruction by the Drengin. We were helped by the Terran Alliance to gain our world back and start to rebuild. We will never let our proud race be oppressed by anyone ever again. We will create an army of warriors that will...

January's Camera Pictures

January is always a slow and not very eventful month for us, so we didn't really get out and about much, plus the weather was just wet, wet wet......  Anyway we did get to see The Flying Scotsman which was nice and we had the smallest amount of snow, which we still made the most of :)
