Holiday in the Lake District part 1

After the last few months of worry over our youngest son and his health, and the doctors telling us we shouldn’t take him abroad, we had to cancel our holiday to Cyprus. It was a shame as we have wanted to take our boys to where we got married for many years now, maybe another time.
For our last few breaks we have spent them at Center Parcs so this time we thought we would try somewhere new. We found a place in Keswick called Keswick Reach Lodge RetreatVery new and very nice, not much on site, but only a 20mins drive into Keswick centre.

On arriving in the Lake District we first stopped off at Castlerigg Stone Circleit is among the earliest British circles, raised in about 3000 BC during the Neolithic period. After that we moved onto Keswick Climbing Wall which was just down the road for the boys to spend sometime climbing the walls!!

On arriving at the Lodge we were very happy with the place, it had lots of space and all the mod cons you could need.

A few more pictures of our walk around Keswick, Hope Park, Bassenthwaite Lake and Maryport beach.

More pictures coming in part 2.
