New Lego And Own Build Sets

Time for a Lego Build update....   Two new sets have made it into our house lately Iron Man LEGO BrickHeadz and Ninjago Desert Lightning.  My eldest son, now is "not interested in Lego" but can not help picking the odd set up, this one caught his eye when we visited  Legoland in Manchester  lately. Buildable Iron Man LEGO® BrickHeadz construction character features colorful and authentic detailing, BrickHeadz eyes, plus a display baseplate. Each LEGO® BrickHeadz construction character comes with its own buildable collector’s base plate featuring series number and BrickHeadz icon.

May the 4th Is Not Just Star Wars Day

May the 4th might be Star Wars Day, and we do love Star Wars here, but it is now 1 year since Kylo came into our family, and we couldn’t imagine it without him. Such a happy dog and a right character… 😉

Busy Easter Weekend

I’m a little late on this post as Easter was a good week ago now, but ehhh….  It was a busy long Easter weekend here at the Dixon’s. We got a visit to the Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester. It was ok with a few things to do, but I’m afraid that after visiting Legoland in Windsor everything else falls short, but not a bad way to spend a few hours.

Update on my son

Just an update on my son and where we are at the moment…..  After almost 12 weeks now since my son had his stroke, we still don’t have any answers about what caused it. He had his second MRI scan about 4 weeks ago and was given a General anaesthesia as they wanted to do more test which could take over 1 and a half hours, which is a long time for anyone never mind a 7yr old. In the last week we have seen two consultants, the first was about his blood pressure. He said Ryan is doing great and wants to slowly remove him from the medication that he is on for high blood pressure. This will take almost 3 months to do, and during this time he will be monitored by outreach nurses. This news made us happy and we thought we had turned a significant corner in his recovery. Unfortunately the next consultant has knocked us back again…..

Holiday in the Lake District part 2

TIME FOR THE LAST LOT OF PICTURES TAKEN WHILE WE WERE AWAY IN THE LAKE DISTRICT. On one of our walks we went on, well I won’t say we went all the way up a mountain but it felt high, I’m sure the air was getting thin   . We parked at Dodd Woods, next to  The old sawmill  and followed the river running down it. A good way up we stopped at a group of birds watchers who showed us a few locations about half a mile away with their spotting scopes. Great views right across Bassenthwaite Lake.

Holiday in the Lake District part 1

After the last few months of worry over our youngest son and his health, and the doctors telling us we shouldn’t take him abroad, we had to cancel our holiday to Cyprus. It was a shame as we have wanted to take our boys to where we got married for many years now, maybe another time.   For our last few breaks we have spent them at Center Parcs so this time we thought we would try somewhere new. We found a place in Keswick called  Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat .  Very new and very nice, not much on site, but only a 20mins drive into Keswick centre.  On arriving in the Lake District we first stopped off at  Castlerigg Stone Circle ,  it is among the earliest British circles, raised in about 3000 BC during the Neolithic period. After that we moved onto  Keswick Climbing Wall  which was just down the road for the boys to spend sometime climbing the walls!!

Great Rugby Win, And Mother’s Day.

FIRST GAME THIS SEASON THAT I REMEMBERED TO TAKE MY CAMERA, AND SO GLAD THAT I DID.  It was a fantastic win for Leyland Warriors 36-0, they were on fire and not giving anything away today. They started off with a minutes silence for the London terrorist attack, then got straight into the game and didn’t stop until the final whistle was blown.  This afternoon we went to Bank Hall for Daffodil and Mother’s Day. Nice walk and nice to take Kylo with us 🙂
