Starbound Beta Trailer

So finally the day has come (hopefully) that Starbound the game makes its beta release to the public. I have been waiting for well over a year for this. Today they have also release the trailer which shows off well some of the things that are going on in the game, but I would imagine there is so much more to see and find :) And here are a few screen grabs I found online, so looks good.   :)

The Dark Crystal

Loved this film when I was a kid, but always thought there was more to it, or that I was missing something. Anyway it turns out the the version we all got to see was not the one Jim Henson and Frank Oz originally intended. The producers thought it would be confusing and too dark for audiences.  Many thanks to scoodidabop who spent the last two years remastering this cut so that we might see it they way they wanted it to be viewed. This version removed the narrator, inner monologues, and the Skeksis very rarely speak English. There are some restored additional scenes and musical scores that were removed.   Enjoy.     some info/text via: http://geektyrant.com Going to sit one night and watch this :)

Me and my camera

Started a new album series this month after getting my very own camera(not for the kids to play with!) Its a Sony RX100 mk2. I take it with me whenever I step outside. My plan is to just take images of anything that catches my eye. It has a great amount of functions for a point and shoot, with the added bonus that I can wireless transfer any shot over to my phone or tablet for a quick edit and upload to G+ or Facebook :) Here are a few to view, more in the album and added all through the month.

Terraria Mobile

I picked up Terraria for my Sony Z tablet and S3 phone the other week, and I can not stop playing it. Now I bought the game for pc well over a year ago with the hopes of it being a great side scrolling version of minecraft, yet I wasn't impressed at all, it was hard to control and move about and seemed very confusing, well to me anyway. They seem to have fixed most of those problems with the latest update for the pc which happened the other day, but I'm glad none of those problems have appeared in the mobile version, it seems the perfect platform for this type of game and I'm loving playing it and so is my eldest son.

Britney Spears - Work B**ch

Well she has been away for sometime, but I think she is back on form, and looking rather hot....... Welcome back Britney  :)

Southport Airshow 2013

I am way behind in blogging posts on this site, so thought I better get my skates on and do some typing and image sorting. In no order of things that have happened over the last couple of months we will start with this weekends Southport Airshow.  Its been around 8 or 9 years since we last went, so thought its about time we took the boys to see some planes and helicopters in action. I even took out my ageing DSLR EOS 300D which is a first in a long time, but there was no way I was going to catch any good pictures with our Nikon happy snap camera or phone! :)

Day Trip Into London

Last Saturday we thought it would be a great idea to have a flying visit to our capital. Just us, the kids and Grandma. An early start was needed (8am train) as the journey down to London was just over 2hrs. We only planed to see maybe 2 main locations and anything else would be a bonus.

Barenaked Ladies- Grinning Streak

My newest favourite album is an old favourite band - Barenaked Ladies. There latest album Grinning Streak is very good and most of the songs have that feeling you might of heard them before, which is a trait I thing of these guys. It aslo marks there 25th Anniversary which is a great thing :)    click the more to watch the Boomerang track.

Rufford Old Hall

Another weekend another family trip out using our National Trust membership. This weekend we didn't travel too far ( only about 25mins from our home ) to  Rufford Old Hall . It was a great day out, the Victorian and Edwardian gardens are really nice to walk around, and looked great in the gorgeous weather we had. The Hall itself was smaller then I was expecting but really nice inside. The boy's liked walking around all the rooms because they were looking for an different animal in each one ( a paper they were given as we entered the Hall ).

Formby Point Visit

We finally got around to becoming members of the National Trust in the past few weeks, so after a few false starts due to bad weather we managed to get out to Formby Point , one of the many National Trust location very close to us.   I think we picked the best day, as the sun was out all day and lovely and warm, which is a big change from what we have had in the last few months.  The two main things at  Formby Point   are the beach and the woods which have red squirrels, but we never got to see any and it wasn't for the lack of looking, more to the point that they heard Sam and Ryan coming :)

Mariah Carey - Beautiful ft. Miguel

I know she has been away having her two kids, but it does seem like a long time since we had anything from Mariah. Beautiful ft. Miguel

Planetary Annihilation

I am so looking forward to this. I was a big, big fan of Total Annihilation and all the addon's ( that's what they were called in the old day's before DLC ) that you could get. Supreme Commander is another that I loved and still do play once in a while when I want some epic mech battles, I have both 1 and 2 and again all the addon's.  So I have hi hopes for this as it is being made by those very guy's who created those games. The idea behind this I think is basically more, much more now on the side of planets not just maps or levels. Watch the pre alpha video below and let me know what you think. As its an alpha it only gives you a little look and what is to come but the kickstarter video has more action.

Some family pictures

I don't often post family pictures, but I'm somewhat behind on organising our images, so while I have a few moments and I'm in my photo album folders he you go.  Just a few from the last 4 months. January:

Favourite cosplay images from March

Ok, before I start this months cosplay album, I though I would pick a few of my favourites from last months collection.

Unreal Engine 4

Now this is impressive. I'm a big fan of Unreal and there engine tech, this is the latest graphics demo 'Infiltrator'.   Hope we don't need too much of a beast of a system to run the games coming on this.

Favourite cosplay images from Feb

So as this month is racing on I thought I would post a few of my favourite cosplay images from last months collection.   Some really great ones I think. A special Yes for me has to be Ash and Bettlejuice, they still rock!!   Lots more in last months album if you missed them.
